01/15/2006 - We have news to report. As hard
as I have worked to keep bitches in heat away
from dogs, I have failed this time. Cherie (the
hussy) actually dug out of her pen and into
another pen to get to Jacob today.. I feel sure
the breeding will take. Cherie will be due
around March 19, making the puppies ready
for delivery around May 14, 2006. Mother's
Day!!!!
03/08/2006 - Cherie was taken to be x-rayed.
The machine was broken and she had to
spend the night, but after waiting all day again,
I was told there were definately 6 puppies! SIX!
03/19/2006 - I haven't been worried about
Cherie during this pregnancy like I normally
would, however, as we were leaving for church
this morning, she was panting, so I was
panting to get back to her! But she was fine.
6:15 p.m. - Water broke
7:30 p.m. - First puppy born; flashy fawn male
(Flame - deceased 05/08/2006)
Cherie stopped everything, but seemed like
she was hurting. Around 8:30 p.m., I made an
attempt to check her birth canal and she about
bit my hand off! I've never! She must really be
in pain. I waited uncomfortably trying to decide
what to do. At 9:30 p.m., I decided I had to do
something. I was worried that two puppies
were trying to get out at the same time and I
really needed to get things moving again. I
placed my rubber glove on and lubed up my
fingers. I got in the whelping pool with her, then
with my left arm I pushed and held her head as
hard as I could while doing the internal check. I
couldn't feel anything in the canal so I stroked
her to cause contractions. 23 minutes later:
9:56 p.m. - classic fawn male (Rocky)
10:45 p.m. - white female (Scout)
11:13 p.m. - white female (Sassy Pearl)
11:25 p.m. - flashy fawn male (Future)
Now, as you know there is probably only one
more puppy left. Is it going to be the flashy girl
I've been waiting on for four years??!! I guess
at this time we both have to wait and see.
11:59 p.m. - Is it? Is it? Is it?
Classic fawn male. (Flint)
Well unless one was hiding in the x-ray, very
common when you have a lot of babies in such
a small area. If the x-ray was correct that's it.
I'm going to bed on the couch after cleaning
and refreshing Cherie's bed. She has done a
great job whelping and looks to be acting way
more like a mother this time.
12:06 a.m. - x-ray not so right. Flashy fawn
male, of course. (Marcus)
1:32 a.m. - Classic fawn female (Died at 2
days after Cherie layed on her and couldn't
hear her.)
03/19/2006 - I'm tired and cleaning but letting
Cherie do her job. I'll email those on the list
when I take pictures and have them on the
website in the oh so obvious space next to all
these words.
03/28/2006 - When I got back home today
some of them are opening their eyes! That's
so exciting. As you can see the they are doing
great. All of their weights are way up and I
don't have to supplement anymore (I always
supplement smaller puppies) if I take the big
'uns out and let the smaller ones nurse until
they fall asleep, then I put in the larger ones to
make sure the bigger ones don't push the
smaller ones out of the way.By the way - size
at this point does not matter! It makes
absolutely no difference in what size they will
be as adults.
04/11/2006 - I started the pups on rice cereal
and a little can food for smelling over the
weekend. Whew what a mess!!! They were all
covered in goo by the time they were done.
Right now all the eyes are open and they can
toddle around.
05/08/2006 - Sue and Rick Foster came and
picked up their puppy Tazmanian's Freedom
Marc (Marcus).
05/13/2006 - A lot has happened in the last
month. The pups had Coccidia and it just kept
getting worse. It was driving me insane! The
parents are all coming today to pick up their
babies. So home went Sassy (now Sweet
Pea), Gertie, and Tazmanian Forgiven
(Rocky).
05/17/2006 - All puppies are in their new
homes. I have kept one and I am calling it
Tazmanian's Future. It's all I have left. No girls.
Keep watch of Future and I'll keep updating
this portion under the "Past Litters" buttons if
you don't find this later.
05/19/2006 - A lot has happened over the last
two days. We had an unfortunate problem with
Sassy Pearl (renamed Sweet Pea, then
changed back to Sassy because she really is
sassy!),
Tazmanian's Future - We're keeping this one ourselves to show. He shows the "show" attitude (okay house pet, awesome show dog!)

Scout has really grown up! What a big girl she has become and quite the looker too! - placed with the Rhodes
|
Tazmanian's Freedom Marc (Marcus) Sue has been waiting 15 years for her puppy. I'm just so proud that she chose one of mine! Look how handsome he is!
|
Sassy - at home with the Jacobs
|
Violet trying to play with the babies!
|
I know, the baby's incorigable, but what can I say, Boxers are awesome with babies and kids alike!!
|

05/19/2006 - I have talked with all the new owners and everything seems well. After what seems to me a
lifetime for everyone to get used to their surroundings, everyone is doing well and happy, healthy little
buggers.
05/30/2006 - What was originally a bad situation has been blessed! After getting Sassy back in my
possession, I kept her to get all her test results back before placing her. She had already been moved too
many times as far as I was concerned. So last week when I received a phone call from a couple who live
near Fayetteville and have a male puppy from the D-Litter named Dash aka: Ali. Click here to see the
D-Litter page, I just could not have been more thrilled. Katrina said that they had been thinking about getting
a playmate for Ali now that he was a few years old. Because Ali was a special case due to an eye problem
prior to his eye opening, they knew what having one that I considered special meant. I was NOT going to let
this puppy go to anyone that I didn't already know or had some really good references. Sassy is in a loving
home with another Boxer and two humans who would give their life for their dogs and never think about
giving up a dog because it may cost them -- not that Sassy should give them any more costs than any of the
other pups. I would like to thank everyone for praying for this little puppy and stable and loving home.

Tazmanian's Flint placed with the Kendrick's
|
Flint was placed with my brother and sister-in-law in Charlotte. They owned a previous boxer of mine from way back when I first started. Her name was Brandy. Brandy recently passed away at the age of 10. They are also the owners of a white boxer from the D-litter named Gnarly.
